Getting There
Sugar Rush Park is located off Esenembe Road (also listed as Esenembi Road on some navigation apps) and will be clearly sign-posted on the day.
The safest option is to leave the driving to someone else. We recommend using a rideshare service like Uber; why not share the ride with your friends?
If you do choose to drive, please appoint a designated driver who wonβt be drinking. Limited Designated Driver tickets are available and give access to the Festival, including the food, activations, entertainment and atmosphere – just without the wine tasting.
Plan your ride home before you arrive, and letβs make sure everyone gets home safely.
Ticket Prices
In the interest of promoting responsible drinking and to honour the various price points of the wines available, a token system is in place.
While these tokens have no value (and cannot be exchanged for cash), you will βpayβ between one and four tokens per tasting, based on the price point of the wine.
- Under R100 β 1 Token
- R101 β R200 β 2 Tokens
- R201 β R400 – 3 Tokens
- Over R400 β 4 Tokens
TASTING STANDS CLOSE at 4.30pm. The 50ml tasting portion reaches the tasting line that is clearly printed on your glass. Please do not try to exchange multiple tokens for a full glass of wine.

This October, the Pick n Pay Wine & Food Festival Durban heads to its brand-new home at Sugar Rush Park, Ballito, for a day of exceptional South African wine, delicious food, live entertainment and unforgettable experiences.

For something a little different, explore the festivalβs wine-based cocktails.
For a more intimate experience, the Pick n Pay Tasting Room offers exclusive guided wine-pairing sessions hosted by a chef, wine expert and featured producer. Each session pairs exceptional wines with freshly prepared gourmet canapΓ©s, with just 40 seats available per session.
Tasting Room sessions are available as a R150 add-on to your Early Access or General Access ticket.
When hunger strikes, the Pick n Pay Fresh Food Market serves up everything from nutritious bowls and lamb dishes to sushi, vibrant salads, gourmet cheese and charcuterie boards, while the ever-popular Pick n Pay Burger & Pizza Trucks keep the crowd fed throughout the afternoon.
Want to make a day of it? Add a pre-packed picnic bag to your Early Access or General Access ticket and settle in on the lawns with a delicious picnic, live music and the festival atmosphere.

Pick n Pay picnics are pre-ordered as an optional extra over and above your event access ticket. If you do not have an event access ticket upon arrival, you will be required to purchase one at the gate.
Note that alcohol may only be consumed at the venue, and may not be taken off-site. Therefore, please do not purchase bottles of wine with the view of taking your purchases home. Fuel up with a wide array of quick snacks and affordable meals – from curries, burgers, pizzas, salads, and fish & chips, to oysters and sushi – while soaking up the live music vibe. While wine and food sales close at 5pm, you can still sit back, relax, and enjoy your food and wine until the event closes at 5.30pm. |
