In an effort to promote responsible drinking, while also honouring the various price points of the wines available for tasting, the Pick n Pay Wine & Food Festival organisers will introduce a revised token system in Durban, which will be rolled across future events across the country.

Going forward, festivalgoers will “pay” between one and four tokens per tasting, based on the price point of the wine.

  • 1 x token: wine up to R199
  • 2 x tokens: wine valued R200 – R399
  • 4 x tokens: wine valued above R400

Tastings END at 4.30pm, and patrons will be able to purchase a bottle of wine from the Pick n Pay Wine Bar:

  • Cape Town & Johannesburg: Buy your favourite wines to enjoy on-site or to take home.
  • Durban: Buy a bottle for on-site consumption while also enjoying the live entertainment and fresh food on offer.

These tokens have no value and cannot be exchanged for cash. To reduce the chance of excessive drinking, wine stand staff will be required to only pour to the 50ml tasting line. Guests may not exchange multiple tokens for a full glass of wine.
